Rules
Elevate plays under official NFL FLAG rules. Here's a quick summary for players and families.
Confirm each point below against the current NFL FLAG rulebook and any Elevate-specific modifications before launch.
The basics
- Games are 5-on-5, and every player is an eligible receiver.
- No tackling, blocking or screening. Defenders stop the play by pulling the ball carrier's flag.
- The quarterback has a limited time to throw. A rusher must start a set distance back.
- The quarterback can't run with the ball unless it's handed off or pitched first.
- No-run zones near midfield and the end zone mean those plays must be passes.
Scoring
- Touchdown: 6 points
- Extra point: 1 point from closer in, 2 points from farther back
- Safety: 2 points
Flag guarding
Ball carriers can't block a defender from pulling their flag with their hands, arms or the ball. It's a penalty.
